Famous and unusual attractions
- After a construction period of 20 months, the Stuttgart TV Tower was put into operation on 5 February 1956. - Stuttgart is the birthplace of the automobile: the headquarter of Mercedes-Benz – the oldest car manufacturer in the world – is based here. Would you like to take a journey through over 130 years of fascinating automotive history? Your journey through time begins in 1886 at the top of the ninth floor of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. - Porsche Museum – spectacular from the outside and high performance on the inside. Since 1950, the sports cars with the Stuttgart Rössle on the bonnet have been manufactured here at Porscheplatz. Since 2009, right next to the headquarters of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, a spectacular automobile museum tells you about the product and motorsport history of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. The museum building is supported by three V-shaped columns and contains around 6,000 tonnes of steel – more than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. - The Stuttgart-Ulm Rail Project is one of the biggest and most spectacular infrastructure schemes in Europe and involves far more than just a new station.
